Keelyn (Key) Grant - Office Coordinator

My life, although never defined by dance, has always involved dance. Be it in the studio or in the kitchen, dance courses through me and I can’t help but move with it! Early in my dance career, I found dance to be more than a highly physical artform, but a medium to feel, explore, and express emotions. However, it was not until I began dancing under Sara Ordway that I felt truly celebrated as a dancer. Once I worked with her, I knew there was no other place I wanted to be. With Sara, I competed at YAGP, joined a youth ballet company, and danced principal roles in multiple ballet productions; all things I never thought I could do as a kid with mediocre extensions and naturally pigeon-toed feet. Naturally, I gleefully followed Sara in her transition from teacher to entrepreneur, and relished in the opportunity to create a safe space for dancers of all abilities. I’m proud to say I’m an Ordway Alumnae, and I cannot imagine the person I would be without the people I met and the lessons I learned here.

After graduating from Colgan High School’s CFPA Dance program in 2020, I attended Virginia Commonwealth University where I dabbled in Latin social dance. Upon graduation, I made the decision to return to my roots and reunite with the Ordway Conservatory of Classical Ballet as an Employee! During my time here, I hope to inspire our students the way Sara inspired me. I want to encourage every person who walks through our doors to dance with every ounce of their being, to allow their emotions to move through them and manifest as readable expressions, and welcome them with open arms. I’m thrilled to be back, dance is best when you Do It The Ordway!
