Jill Signer Mohamed

The wonderful thing about dance is that it walks with you through life. It’s there for your first big feelings of accomplishment when you step off stage for the first time, and when you make new friends that quickly become family. The studio becomes your place to go to clear your head. It teaches you about yourself and how to push and believe in yourself in dance and anything you do. It’s with you when deciding what to do after graduation and all life’s chapters to follow, kind of like a best friend. Dance has always been my community, comfort zone, and passion.

I started out in ballet and tap before quickly realizing ballet was what I wanted to focus on. I started my professional training at Milwaukee Ballet School before training at the Joffrey Ballet School, New York. There, I trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and several forms of modern including the Martha Graham, Horton, and Merce Cunningham techniques. I then continued training at American Repertory Ballet, performing in company productions of The Nutcracker and Pride and Prejudice. I danced professionally with the Manassas Ballet Theatre, dancing in Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Don Quioxote, Les Sylphide, Las Pratique Fantastique, Frankenstein, Dracula, among other performances.

I have been a dance teacher since 2018 and am thoroughly enjoying sharing my passion and knowledge of dance.
